Holiday Gifts for the Healthy Kitchen
Spiralizer® Tri-Blade Vegetable Spiral Slicer
I use my spiralizer at least twice a week to make “Zoodles!” (zucchini noodles) with pesto, vegetables, or marinara. A spiralizer is an easy and fun way to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet and cut down on pasta. I can easily eat a whole zucchini without any guilt! Other foods that are perfect for the spiralizer are apples, onions, carrots, and cucumbers. This is the perfect gift for those who love to make quick, healthy meals!
Blender
Everyone needs some kind of blender. For those who are just starting out, the NutriBullet makes a great gift because it has a moderate price point and makes delicious shakes for one or two servings. It's also an easy tool for mornings when you're short on time and need a healthy breakfast. For a more extravagant gift, a Vitamix is the way to go because it is so versatile. It makes smoothies, soups, hummus, nut butters, and a whole lot more. You certainly don’t need a Vitamix to eat healthy, but it is a great way to get more plants into your diet in a variety of ways.
Immersion Blender
One of my all-time favorite tools, I love using my immersion blender to puree my soups. I make a lot of soup all year long, and while I could use a blender or a food processor, an immersion blender allows me to puree the soup right in its original pot. That’s one less thing to clean! Immersion blenders also work well for small batches of smoothies, pesto and other sauces, and even baby food.
