11 Holiday Gifts for the Kitchen

It's time to shop for those in your life! This guide has 11 of my favorite kitchen items that make great gifts for your friends, family members, and even you (I won't tell).

1. Spiralizer® Tri-Blade Vegetable Spiral Slicer

The Spiralizer makes one of my favorite recipes -- Zoodles! Zoodles (zucchini noodles) are a healthy alternative to pasta. A spiralizer is fun to use and makes it easier to get more vegetables and fruits into your daily diet. In addition to zucchini, the Spiralizer is perfect for creatively slicing apples, onions, carrots, and cucumbers.

2. NutriBullet Blender

The NutriBullet is a great gift, especially for people who want to make one or two smoothies in the morning. It’s fast, powerful and comes with an awesome recipe booklet for soups, hummus, guacamole, and more!

3. Oil Spritzer Heading

I don’t know how I lived without this! An oil spritzer helps me use less oil when I’m cooking or spraying a little oil my salad. Fill with your favorite olive oil, and it sprays a light, healthy mist! For gift giving, consider pairing it with a high-quality, extra virgin olive oil or even an infused oil. I use my oil spritzer on salads, fish, vegetables, and to spray sauté pans or sheets for baking.

4. S'well® Reusable Bottles

S'well® insulated bottles not only look good, they do good! They are made from non-leaching, non-toxic stainless steel, and keep your drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours. S'well’s mission is to eliminate the growing problem of plastic bottles -- each year an estimated 50 billion plastic bottles are dumped in US landfills. And finally, S'well® partners with many charities to help provide clean water and reduce waste. This is a gift that keeps on giving!

5. Tea Infuser

Tea infusers are a kitchen staple for the tea lover. I have a dinosaur one that makes me smile while I steep loose-leaf tea on a cold winter day! For gift giving, pair an infuser or two with your favorite loose-leaf organic tea and a S’well bottle!

6. Immersion Blender

I don’t like to pick favorites – but if I did, this might be it! I use my immersion blender to puree soups all winter long, and it’s so much faster and easier than a blender or a food processor. An immersion blender lets me puree the soup right in its original pot, so I have one less thing to clean! Immersion blenders also work well for small batches of smoothies, pesto and other sauces, and even baby food.

7. Garlic Twister

Garlic adds a depth of flavor to soups, sauces, and relishes. I have tried so many garlic presses, but they are usually so messy or difficult I always go back to chopping garlic myself – until now! With this garlic twister, you just cut the garlic clove in half, place it in the circle, twist back and forth, and you have perfectly minced garlic!

8. Insulated Lunch Bag

An insulated lunch bag helps you take care of the environment while keeping your food cold at work, school and on the road! One of my favorites is the BUILT NY Gourmet Getaway Neoprene Lunch Tote. It comes in lots of styles and colors. It’s also good for baby bottles, travel, sports, and more.

9. Egg Cooker

Egg cookers unique and fun as a holiday gift. You can make half a dozen eggs all at once – soft, medium, or hard-boiled – and they come out perfect every time. Some models come with a poaching tray and a scrambling or omelet tray, making your egg dishes faster and even better. Eggs are a great way to start your day with healthy protein or to make ahead and include in your lunch.

10. Avocado Saver

Avocados are a great source of healthy monounsaturated fatty acids (the kind that help lower “bad” cholesterol) and each one is packed with 20 vitamins and minerals – including Vitamin A, C, E, K and powerful B vitamins; Folate, Potassium, Magnesium, Copper, Iron and Zinc. But if you’re like me, you usually use half an avocado at a time. How to save the other half so it doesn’t spoil? An avocado saver, of course! There are many different styles online, and they are designed to keep a cut avocado fresher, longer.

11. Citrus Press

A citrus press has become one of my favorite kitchen tools, because it makes fast work of squeezing lemons – and leaves the seeds behind! It also works great with limes, tangerines, and small oranges.

I hope my guide has given you some great ideas for friends and family on your list (and maybe even for yourself). These kitchen favorites also make great hostess gifts!

You can find gifts like these or similar styles online at Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, and/or the links I’ve provided.
