Foods to Eat to Get into the Groove for Fall

Fall is rapidly approaching, and so begins readjusting for the upcoming slower season. Fall means it’s time to get back to school (or, homeschool these days!). Enjoying some seasonal foods will help you make the shift for the next season and keep your healthy goals on track, too.

Root vegetables

Think carrots, beets, radishes, turnips, garlic, and ginger. Additionally, sweet potatoes and yams are an ideal food for the season. They can really help you kick those sugar cravings to the curb, since they naturally satisfy the desire for sweets, as well.

Go for the proteins

Healthy protein-packed foods help keep your blood sugar on an even keel. Plant-based proteins deserve their own slot here because more and more people are turning to them in their diet.

As Fall approaches, eating more plant-based proteins will be even more beneficial. Think nuts, seeds, beans, quinoa, and lentils. In particular, pumpkin seeds are superb for this season. They taste great and give you healthy energy to get through the day.

Fall Herbs and Spices

What is Fall without pumpkin spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, peppery oregano, and complex sage? These herbs and spices are so good on roasted vegetables, in coffee, in tea, in cozy casseroles, and just about anything. Herbs and spices jazz up all sorts of Fall food, so use them liberally!
